Tattoo Aftercare

1. Keep the bandage on for the time recommended by your Tattooist.

2. After removing the bandage, wash the Tattoo with warm water and mild soap. Antibacterial, non-  scented soap is the best.

3. Dry the Tattoo by patting it gently, don’t rub it!

4. Apply a thin layer of approved Tattoo cream 3-4 times per day for 7-14 days. Don’t touch your Tattoo without washing your hands! And don’t let anyone else touch it. Avoid letting animals brush up against or lick your fresh Tattoo.

5. Your Tattoo may stain your clothing and sheets so wear dark colors and sleep with loose-fitting clothes covering your Tattoo for the first few days.

5. Avoid soaking your Tattoo in any type of water. No baths, swimming, Jacuzzis etc…

6. Avoid UV lights (sun and tanning beds) directly on your Tattoo for 7-14 days. UV light is always bad for a Tattoo and will fade the colors prematurely, always put sun block on your Tattoo when exposing it to UV light after it’s healed.

7. Don’t pick or scratch your Tattoo! It will form a thin scab and it will be itchy, this is normal. Also don’t apply any medicated ointments such as Polysporin.

Tattoo Preparation

1. Don’t party the night before! Get a good night of sleep and be well rested.

2. Eat a good, healthy meal within 4 hours before your appointment. If it’s a long Tattoo bring some snacks and juice.

3. Please wash! We sterilize the area to be Tattooed but having a clean area around the Tattoo is always good. Plus Tattooists don’t like to Tattoo smelly body parts!

4. Don’t put any lotions, creams or make-up on the area to be Tattooed.

5. Don’t use any form of pain-reducing or numbing cream, they can cause complications during the Tattooing process resulting in a bad Tattoo or extra pain after they wear off.

6. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and plan ahead in case you need to remove clothes for the area to be Tattooed.

7. Don’t bring your whole family or a large group of friends. Most Tattooists don’t like to be crowded while they work and usually only allow one extra person in the Tattoo booth.

We suggest wearing a round circle band aid on the dermal anchor at night time for the first two weeks. This will allow time for the dermal anchor to get locked in tighter to your skin. The band-aid will help protect your dermal anchor.

Take one sterile cotton ball, rinse dermal anchor with warm water and lather it with one pump of the Dial anti bacterial soap. Hold the cotton ball lightly over the dermal anchor for about 2 minutes. This will loosen up any dried blood or crustiness. After 2 minutes remove the cotton ball, rinse dermal anchor with water and use a sterile paper towel to dry your dermal. anchor. As a routine you must use a sea salt solution 3 times daily for 2 weeks.

DO NOT: please don’t use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, ointments, gels, or creams on your piercing. Don’t submerge piercing in any body of water, no swimming 4-6 weeks. Keep as dry as possible even in the shower.

Good to know: your anchor may appear to be healed in days when in fact it will be 2-3 months to heal. The first couple of weeks your anchor will not be on tight, be very careful.
